Virgin Mobile Starts Selling iPhone 4S And iPhone 4 From Today

As announced earlier this month, Virgin Mobile will start selling the iPhone 4 and the iPhone 4S from today. The phones would be available with prepaid contracts starting from $ 30 a month.

Since these phones come without a contract, they’re unsubsidized and would cost you $ 549 for an 8GB iPhone 4 or $ 649 for the newer iPhone 4S with 16GB of storage.

The launch is a pretty big one for the the company. It’s taking its first step into the world of retail in preparation for the iPhone, with 10 stores opening in Chicago today.

So in addition to Best Buy and RadioShack, Virgin would also be selling the iPhone at its own retail stores.

The plans start at $ 35 a month, but Virgin discounts $ 5 if you sign up for automatic payments. Here’s a chart of all the plans:

Virgin’s the second prepaid operator in the US to get the iPhone, the first one being Cricket Wireless.

Apple’s been aggressively expanding across various regional carriers all across the US, with T-Mobile USA being the only notable absentee from the list of networks that offer the iPhone.
