Tablets are coming to us fast and furiously from hardware manufacturers across the board including Apple, Motorola, Samsung, HTC, Amazon, Barnes & Noble and more. While some feature small displays, others low price tag and others high end specs they largely look the same. Sony, on the other hand, is looking to break away from the typical slate form factor with their recently released Tablet P.
As you can see from the above screen shot this Honeycomb powered tablet touts two separate 5.5-inch displays that allow consumers to fold the device into a sort of mini laptop. Other than tasking the lower screen with text input it can also be useful for things such as gaming with the bottom half, quite obviously, displaying a virtual gamepad.
Other specs of the Sony Tablet P include a 1GHz NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor, 1GB of RAM, 4GB of internal storage with microSD slot for additional storage, 5 megapixel camera, WiFi, optional 3G and a 7 hour battery. Price wise Sony UK has the device for sale at £499.00 which roughly translates to $ 780. We’ll keep you posted as we heard more in regards to a US release.
