We recently took a look at some Droid RAZR variants Motorola was preparing for release in China. Beyond their very-high-resolution cameras and the promise of an HD display, we noted how they resisted the Nokia N8-style design cues Motorola has been using with many of its latest products – a look that returns with the Xyboard tablets. Today we continue to see Motorola prepare phones with a more rounded-off look for Asian markets, with the announcement of the Motorola XT615.

The XT615 will debut in Taiwan, costing about $ 360. The Gingerbread Android sounds like a lower-end piece of hardware, with an 800MHz processor and 512MB of RAM. The phone features a four-inch FWVGA display, an eight-megapixel main camera, and a VGA front-facer.

Motorola will make the phone available beginning next month, coming in both black and white color variants right out of the gate. The white looks particularly striking, showing off the phone’s unusual bezel design and color accents.

We haven’t heard of any plans to bring the XT615 outside of Southeast Asia, and given the phone’s frequency support for 3G only on 900 and 2100MHz bands, we wouldn’t recommend importing it to the States; maybe someday a European release might be in the cards.
