Bob Mansfield, one of the senior folks over at Apple, and whom frequently appears in their ads and keynotes, will be retiring in a few months. Apple announced the retirement and revealed his successor: Dan Riccio. Mansfield has been one of the most known faces of Apple over the past few years, heading the iPhone, iPad and the Mac hardware development teams. Basically everything that’s been concerned with Apple hardware over the past few years, Mansfield has been overseeing.
Bob Mansfield has been with Apple for 13 years, arriving in 1999 with the acquisition of his company, Raycer Graphics. There is no mention of what Mansfield intends to do with his retirement, but don’t feel sorry for the guy: he’s got millions of dollars worth of Apple shares, so he’ll be just fine.
